About vifamath

What is vifamath?

vifamath, the Virtual Library of Mathematics is the central access point for your search for mathematical information. It allows both to search for conventional forms of media and for electronic resources.

In one single search query you may look simultaneously for literature in libraries, online available articles, tables of contents of academic journals, reviews of the Zentralblatt MATH and also for internet sites covering mathematics.

vifamath offers you simple and advanced searches in all the included databases as well as in special collections. A browsing by topics is also available. [» Learn more about the included databases.]

Furthermore you will find in some aspects of historical mathematics, e.g. a list of the holdings of the Central Archive for German Mathematics Bequests.

Who?

Since 2008 the special subject virtual library of mathematics (vifamath) has been offered, enhanced and redesigned by three co-operating partners:

In the real world, the two libraries are in charge of the DFG funded special subject collections Pure Mathematics (SUB Göttingen) and Applied Mathematics (TIB Hannover). The FIZ Karlsruhe is a joint editor of the review service Zentralblatt MATH.

Initially, the ViFaMATH was built up from 2005 until 2007 by the SUB Göttingen in a loose co-operation with a couple of partners.

Funding

The project has been funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) since 2005.
